Iris Woutera graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in the department of Design & Performance. In 2017 she started her own company where she started to create sculptures that are worn and brought to life by dancers. Her art is being performed at museums, theater festivals, expositions and on the street, with locations such as; Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Vienna and Paris. Distinctive movements found in her work were put into graphic shapes, and together with the typography placed on a consistent yet flexible grid system. All together reflecting a sense of space and movement on the given surface of the paper. By pressing these shapes into soft bamboo paper, you can touch and feel the movements, referring to her overall objective to tickle the senses.
